I was reading in the latest Real Simple magazine and they had a section on Gratitude. Which inspired me to make November: Gratitude Month! It was surprising to me that the culture we live in today, with the economy struggling and many souls not knowing the Savior, that they would be pursing thankfulness. The question that dwells in my mind, is who are they thankful to??? Even though their gratitude and mine may not be directed towards the same giver, it still was a good reminder to grow in gratitude.
gratitude- the quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful; appreciation; The state of being grateful; warm and friendly feeling toward a benefactor; kindness awakened by a favor received; thankfulness.
So, this November, please join with me in expressing thankfulness to the One who met our greatest need on the cross, and continues to pour out His goodness and kindness to us on this earth. From big to small we have lots to be thankful for.
Colossians 2: 6,7 "Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, ust as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.

game night
We played the game Pop 5 with some of the couples in our care group last week. It is the one cranium game Jer actually likes! Its great to get ideas of games to add to the family game collections. Jer and I are having a Phase 10 competition right now. The score is 2 to 1...you can guess who is winning....???

happenings
I have come to the conclusion that everyone and their mother is now into photography, and are really good at it. My little coolpix cam is not up to par with these cannons of cameras people are totting around. BUT I shall still share my shots with you, because they have character. :) And otherwise this blog would be boring.
Katya came over for the afternoon the other week. We had lunch together, watched some spongebob and drew funny pictures together. Oh, and made Katya's christmas list wish. Can't believe Christmas is less then 2 months away. Jer and I will have to come up with some newlywed traditions. What have you people done for Christmas, or have planned???
Chavia's birthday party at Bonefish was big fun. Abe the babe tried to save a parking spot for the birthday girl, but some old man wanted that spot and Abe's ploy to not look him in the eyes failed and we lost the only open spot in the lot. :) This is my favorite shot, because Judah's epic beard got caught in Chavs hair. Gotta love the Groveman love.

One of Jer's hobbies is guitar playing, I told him the other night that ever since I was little I knew I was going to marry a boy that could play the guitar. Good thing he fit that criteria.

NYC
New York was tons of fun. Here is Jer figuring out our first stop. He is very good with subway traveling. We only got on the wrong one once!
Jer & Jesse drinking some coffee from a local shop near the World Trade Centers. They are in the grave yard at Trinity church. Across the street we saw the Borders where part of the National Treasure was filmed.
Us in Battery Park. Where Rick and T got engaged. :) Here we could see the Statue of Liberty across the water. And many people dressed up like the Statue.

This made me laugh so hard. I saw a person selling mini bulls and I thought to my self... self, that bull has to be around here somewhere. Little did I realize we were walking right by it. It was in the middle of the street, surrounded...I mean SURROUNDED by asians all getting their picture with it. Must be the year of the bull. :)
Jer and the die.
The locals. About 8 different people asked us directions while we sat on this step. The only one we gave directions to, we found out when Janice met up with us, that we sent them in the wrong direction....oops. This is also when we got to Washington Square park to find that it is under construction until Spring '09. You can't get in it at all...it was very sad.
So, New York in the fall is my new favorite.

Shout out to Jill Prater! Probably would find the best deals nyc has to offer. :)

oh happy day!!!
Jeremy and I drove up Friday afternoon to West Chester, PA our old stomping grounds :) because some very special people were getting married. We enjoyed every minute of it and made lots of memories. We are a tad jealous of the newest Smith's since they are on the beach in Aruba, happily enjoying their honeymoon. Here are some pictures of the trip...
